SUMMER CAMPS 2020: InformationWe are very excited and thankful to be able to offer Summer Camps this year. We have created a new structure, not just to adhere to HSE policies but also to provide the children attending with a positive, uplifting and empowering experience after such an uncertain time.
Our emphasis will be on social time, as I believe so many children have missed this important stage of their development during this time. Hip Hop was a culture based on social interactions and we will be using the influence of the culture to recreate social emphasis. We will base our first day around social connections so don’t be worried if your child is ‘going alone’. No one will be left on their own and I have planned in discussion times to get everyone creating and expressing ideas and opinions together.
We will also be introducing concepts of activating your super brain during our warm up activities and talking abut the 10 keys to supercharging your super brain as will as the top 10 super brain foods.
We will be working of exploring freestyle skills and using this as a chance to build confidence, resilience and over -coming fears of making mistakes or experimenting with unique and personal ideas. This will be a chance for the students to express and showcase their ideas, should they wish to.
We will use our freestyle and foundational skills exercises to create unique choreography as a method of improving memory skills, helping our brains groove and above all, have fun and let go of tension, anxiety or any movement blocks. “When your Body Moves, Your Brain Grooves”
The day will be split into 4 ‘blocks’ of 45 minutes indoors dance/ movement time and 15 minute outdoor ‘circle discussions’ to eat, get refreshed, get talking and also air out the studio. Please bring raincoats and umbrellas as we plan some outdoor time even its a bit wet. Please plan in 3 snacks of hydrating, nutritious foods and drinks that are easy to digest and get energy from (fruit, cucumbers, hummus, whole wheat sambos and crackers, cheese, yoghurts etc.). Students will have to bring their wrappers home and provide their own spoons etc. We will wash and sanitise our hands before and after our breaks.
Each child will be designated their own chair in the reception area for their belongings, drinks, umbrellas, coats and any other bits they wish to bring. This will be their chair for the week and cleaned down before and after each camp.
We have limited the numbers to just 20 students max per camp to allow for social distancing. If for whatever reason your child cannot attend the camp please give us as much notice as possible so we can attempt to fill the place to reduce any further loss of revenue this year. We have a €20 non refundable deposit to cover admin costs. Any cancelations on the first day of camp will need to be paid in full, Please and Thank You.
All registration and payments will need be completed at least 7 days before camp starts and electronically or through post.
Morning Drop off procedure: parents will be asked to park at the church and walk their student to the studio, maintaining social distancing. You will be met by a Camp Representative at the main gate and asked if you have taken your child’s temperature and meet the camps Covid policy (as signed on application form). Your child is then welcomed to the studio and assigned a chair for their belongings, then we can let the fun begin! Parents will then exit through the far side gate at the top of the side steps.
Collection will mimic drop off ie; parents can park at the church and line up on ramp inside main Hall gate, maintaining social distance. Children will be ready with their belongings inside the studio at 1:30 sharp. We will notify each student in order of parents arrival and send the students up the top entrance to meet their parent at the bottom of the side outdoor steps. Parent and child will exit through side gate. We will go though this on the first day so don’t worry about not connecting with your child before they leave. We will have helpers to guide everyone where they need to go.
I will have placed out ‘silicone disc’s’ on the studio floor making distance to help each child find their space. They will be designated a space for their water bottle too.
Regular wiping down of the handles and entrance areas will be part of the 15 minute break
Camps will run from 9:30-1:30pm Monday to Friday on weeks of 27th July, 10th August, 17th August for children aged 6-13 years.
As there will be no end-of-week performance, we will use time each day to create a playlist of videos that I can share as an unlisted link on YouTube (only those with the link can view. It is not a public playlist) which will create a momento for each student.
Students will need to wear comfortable sports wear and runners. No sandals or jeans please.
I am very much looking forward to getting back into the studio and interacting with the children again. Let’s have a week of fun and dance, interaction and laughter.
Please also check out our regular terms and conditions that apply with all our classes. By attending our camps you are agreeing to these terms. Pleas and Thank you. Zoe + Team h"p://www.fyidanceclub.com/terms--condi9ons.html

We request a €20 deposit. We offer a further €10 and €20 off second and third child (from the same family).

What to bring

Its very important due to the nature of dance, that students were loose fitting clothes and runners. Bring plenty of bottled water and a healthy lunch and snacks. Oh, and bring a smile!

Once the application form has been received we will notify via text to confirm place.
Please note, cheques will not be lodged until first day of workshop.
